St Pete’s runs various activities for young people:
Monday Club
6:00pm – 7:30pm in the Church hall.
Games, crafts and basic Bible teaching for primary-age children.
Thursday Club
7:00pm – 8:30pm in the Church hall
Open drop in / café atmosphere for Secondary-age children – pool, table tennis, a place to relax and chat.
Sunday school and Bible class
3 classes covering Primary-age children and 2 for secondary-age children take place during the Sunday morning church service (starting 11am). These classes provide more in depth Bible teaching and aim to connect children to the rest of the church.
Summer camp
Every year we run a summer camp for 20-30 primary-age children. Preference is given to children who come along to the Monday club although we usually have spaces for extra children. Early booking is recommended as, despite increasing the number of spaces every year, we have turned children away for the last 3 years. Camp includes day trips, activities such as climbing and raft building, the Looney Olympics, craft and games. All of this alongside Bible teaching each day together with time to ask questions, find out what Christians believe, think and do. Camp is a time to get to know leaders well and form lasting relationships. This year we may also run a secondary age camp depending on interest and availability of leaders.
Sleepovers
Most years we run 2 sleepovers for our primary group. These run over the Saturday night into Sunday morning, and are a great camp reunion or introduction to an overnight stay for children who might be worried about going on a camp. As always, games, crafts and Bible teaching. We’ve also run a couple of secondary-age sleepovers.
Holiday club
This year we ran a holiday club during October for primary age children using material from Scripture Union. We hope to repeat this in the future.
